Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week.  We went today and previewed it and made a wish list. Your child's wish list is on their iPad in the Library Folder in the Book Fair app.  You can then click on the bottom where the tab says Wish List.  Your child will be allowed to start shopping on Monday!

Poetry PBL

Today we started a Poetry PBL!  I have attached a letter explaining the PBL and the rubrics.  The children and I are very excited about this and I can't wait to see what they learn and produce with poetry!

Engineering week

This week is Engineering Week.  Today we had a special visitor, Mr. McLean, an engineer from Lockheed Martin.  He came and spoke to the third graders about engineering and all of the different types of engineers!

He also explained what he does at Lockheed Martin and showed them pictures of the airplanes/ jets that they make.  The kids had a great time and asked him really good questions!

Today was our party, and we had a lot of fun and food!  Here's some pictures from the party........

It's snowing.......translates to "having fun!"

What kind of school day would it be if it was snowing and you did not get to go out in it.   Well we turned this lovely Texas weather into a teaching moment!   

So how cold do you think our thermometer read?????   You guessed it....freezing cold!

While we were out there we decided to try and catch a few snowflakes.....with our tongues!

Then it was time to go back in :(

But shhhhh!  Don't tell the kids but while they were at specials, the teachers decided to have a little fun :)

We won!!!

The kids were so excited today and so was I - we got one of the highest class participation in our last Spring Creek night!  The children are coming home with a bag of goodies today!  Thank you for your support :)
