Folktales!

We read a folktale today. We discussed how folktales are passed down and how they have a lesson to learn in them. Today's folktale was Nacho and Lolita. After we read, we shared our thoughts on what the lesson was to learn. Here are some of our "big and deep" thoughts........

Never judge a person by their "outside" but by what is on the inside!
If you love someone you will do anything for them!

Both of these were correct and I am so proud of the scholars for being able to recognize these and acknowledge that they are lessons that we need to live by. :)

Read across America

Today we celebrated Read across America!  The classes chose either to listen to a story being read to them or to read with partners.
My morning class chose to have 3 different stories read to them.  Diary of a Worm, Diary of a Spider, Diary of a Fly

My afternoon class chose to read with friends.  Here's a few videos of them.....

Notes

I know everyone would probably agree with me on the fact that you like to receive good heartfelt notes!  Well I do and this is one that I received today which put a smile on my face.  I sure love my 3rd graders, they are a great group of kids!!!  (And check out that awesome cursive handwriting!)
